Merchant’s Quay Ireland (MQI) has been asked to provide a Community Based Drug & Alcohol support service for individuals over 18 and their families for the North East Region (Louth, Meath, Cavan, Monaghan) on an interim basis. This service is being funded by HSE. MQI are recruiting for the following position in line with service requirements:
Drug & Alcohol Project Worker
The person appointed to this position will be responsible for delivering treatment support, family support, harm reduction, rehabilitation and aftercare services for individuals over 18 and their families initially in County Louth & County Meath on an outreach basis.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Have a minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in addiction, community development, health and social care, education or related fields including experience of crisis support, key working, case management and group facilitation.
- have a relevant qualification (minimum QQI Level 7 or equivalent) e.g. social care, addiction, nursing, community or youth work together with qualification/training in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Relapse Prevention
- Have a clean driving license
- This is a one-year fixed term contract, working 27.3 hours per week Monday to Friday
