Minimum job requirements:
- A recognised third level qualification to at least diploma level in community development, social care/studies, psychology, addiction studies or similar.
- 3 years experience working in a social care setting, working with vulnerable clients.
- Client-focused, adaptable, accountable, resilient individual.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments, create and manage client care plans, conduct holistic needs assessments.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour, whilst being respectful and professional.
- Excellent communicator, with the ability to advocate on the client’s behalf.
Preferred job requirements:
- Drivers License.
- Passion for helping people, with the ability to work in a constantly changing environment with a problem-solving attitude.

About the job:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Acting Up Project Worker – Panel for Emergency Services whose role is to work with the clients of Dublin Simon Community to implement and carry out effective care and case management, with the objective of progression to and sustainment of long term accommodation. This role is rewarding and varied allowing the individual to use their skills and knowledge to ensure effective outcomes for our clients. Please not that this role is to become part of Project Worker Panel for emergency services; we don’t have a vacancy at the moment so the successful candidate will stay in current post until a new vacancy arise. As well as our induction program, you will be provided with 10 training days throughout the year, ensuring you have the support and training to succeed in this role.
- Complete a baseline assessment as a basis to develop support plans for each individual. This will be done through the completion of a thorough assessment using the Holistic Needs Assessment tool and other assessments.
- Develop a Housing Support Plan addressing areas arising from the assessment through setting goals and assisting the client reach goals.
- Work within Best Practise Professional Boundaries ensuring that clients are consulted and involved in both the operation of the service, and their own goal attainment.· Operate within a case management system assisting clients to progress to and sustain long term accommodation, ensuring that the client’s support plan is implemented, regularly reviewed and appropriate to their current needs.
- Review the Client Details on PASS of all households encountered and amends as necessary.
- Prepare reports, statistics and other information as required by Dublin Simon Community and update the PASS and Internal IT Systems on an on-going basis.
- Perform all the administrative duties relating to the role in order to ensure that clients are supported in an effective and timely manner
- Provide visiting support to all residents working onsite on a regular basis at an allocated property
- Ensure residents and service users are consulted and involved in the operation of the project as far as possible
- Engaging with and building a professional trusting relationship with people, treating them with dignity and respect in order to work within the values of Dublin Simon Community.
Location: Dublin City Centre.
Working Hours: 7 days liability (Monday – Sunday). Potential hours 8am – 11pm. 37.5 hours per week. 25 days annual leave.
