Community Centres: Area Support Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with previous management experience in the service industry, specifically those with experience in a community setting, leisure or hotel industry.

The successful candidate will provide support to the management team of several Community Centres located in Swords and North Dublin.

You will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the Community Centres which is driven by the aims and missions of the individual Centre and the direction provided from Fingal County Council.

The role is multifaceted with a strong emphasis on staff management, financial planning and marketing as well as acting as the client and customer liaison.

As the Area Support Manager, you will work alongside dedicated Centre Managers to lead and deliver the following;

  • Preparation and implementation of contracts/agreements for full time clients e.g. childcare groups.
  • Assisting with implementation of business and marketing plans.
  • Funding liaison with agencies.
  • Conduct insurance reviews.
  • Budget preparation and compliance.
  • Staffing Management.
  • Drive quality through regular audits to ensure compliance.
  • Foster and encourage ideas to help develop the Community Centre.
  • Support and develop existing and new Centre Managers ensuring a collaborative approach across the Area. Providing relief cover as necessary.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new Centres as required.
  • Preparation and attendance at Board/Client meetings both in and out of hours.
  • Support Fingal Council Community Department in any other activities.
  • Other tasks as required.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong Staff Management Skills Required
  • Financial Management Skills Required
  • Intermediate to Advanced Level IT Skills required
  • Experience in a Community Centre setting is desirable but not essential
  • Full Driver’s licence with own transport
