We are seeking to recruit compassionate and motivated individuals who would like to make a significant positive difference in someone’s life. The work will involve supporting a young woman with autism and intellectual disability in her home. The role will be to help this young woman to feel safe, secure and accepted, especially at times when she becomes distressed. Her dedicated staff team provide support on a lone working basis. The team are provided with ongoing training, supervision and support from the local manager, clinical psychologist and behaviour therapist.
This position may be of interest to individuals from the Portarlington area who would like to develop expertise supporting people with autism, intellectual disability and behaviours of concern. No previous experience in this field is required. These positions may be attractive to individuals interested in a career change and who would like to make a significant positive impact in someone’s life.
- Willingness to work alone in challenging environments
- Full current driving license
- Excellent team working skills
- Commitment to working in close liaison with the Behaviour Support Team
- Open mind and willingness to learn
- FETAC / QQI Level 5 or willingness to commit to same
- Demonstrated ability in supporting adults with Intellectual Disabilities/Autism
- Experience of working with individuals with behaviours of concern
- Knowledge of Autism and Positive Behaviour Support
