Community and Youth Worker
Offaly Local Development Company is currently seeking to recruit a Community and Youth Worker to provide Maternity Cover from 11th March 2019.
The person appointed will work in disadvantaged areas and with disadvantaged communities to support their greater participation in addressing matters which impact on them, through interagency collaboration and participation in decision-making structures. They will be responsible for outreach, engagement, consultation and planning; development of local community groups, organisations and networks; and the development of responses with these groups and communities, and the agencies best placed to address the issues and gaps identified. This work will also entail provision of support in the set-up of initiatives developed as a result, such as life-long learning supports, prevention of early school leaving initiatives and innovative youth engagement projects.
The successful applicant will have experience working with disadvantaged communities and marginalised individuals in a developmental capacity. A relevant 3rd level or Professional Qualification in related fields is desirable.
