Waterford & South Tipperary Community Youth Service Intercultural Health Project provides support for the Roma Community and Refugees & Asylum seekers living in Emergency Reception & Orientation Centres, re-settlement communities or in Direct Provision, to access health services and health information. This project serves Waterford City, County and part of South Tipperary.
W.S.T.C.Y.S. invites applications for the following posts:
Intercultural Health Project Supervisor
Roma Health Advocate
Asylum Seeker Refugee & Health Advocate
Suitable applicants for these posts should have experience of working with new communities preferably in a health related area. Candidates should have experience of working from a community development approach and of facilitating groups.
Ideal candidates should be self-motivated, flexible, be able to relate to people, have good communication and organisation skills, work as part of a team, and have an awareness of the complex issues affecting new communities. A third level qualification in the area of social care or health promotion is desirable.
