Co-ordinator of Shine Basin Resource Centre and Team Leader of Resource and Counselling Services


Hours: 35 hours per week; occasional weekend and evening work may be required
Salary: €28,330
Base: Shine Basin Resource Centre, Dublin


  • Promote the aims and objectives of Shine
  • Promote and model recovery and discovery ethos and values
  • Empowering people to manage their mental health effectively


  • Work as part of the Shine team
  • Developing personal knowledge and practice around mental health work
  • Maintaining up to date records of their work
  • Building trusting and non-judgemental relationships with users of the service
  • Listening and working with people on their journey using a range of approaches
  • Engage in one to one and group work
  • Support and encourage individuals formally and informally
  • Running and developing innovative mental health initiatives within and external to the centre
  • Developing partnerships with external partners
  • Support monthly Sunday openings
  • Undertake any such duties as requested by Shine


  • An understanding and commitment to the ethos of recovery and person centredness
  • Experience of working within a recovery and person centred service
  • Strong communication, listening and time management skills
  • Openness to giving and receiving support as part of the role


  • Recognised level 8 qualification in social care, community development, psychology or similar
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within mental health
  • Training and/or personal development related to mental health and recovery principles
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft packages
  • Understanding of complex impact of mental health on life


  • Facilitation skills/qualification
  • Broad range of outside interests and skills that you are willing to share or incorporate into your work

  • Ability to work within a team and follow direction
  • Empathetic and non-judgemental
