The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Charity Retail Assistant to work with your colleagues – employees and volunteers to ensure a positive experience for those who are in the shops and warehouse. This includes clients, customers and donors.

Core responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Ensure stock is sorted into sellable or recycling, steamed, priced and put on shop floor with a continuous flow of stock throughout the day and in accordance with shop policies. 
  • Ensure stock is sorted into sellable or recycling, steamed, priced and put on rails in Chapelizod. 
  • Ensure cash in the form of sales and donations is logged using the Clover system and in accordance with policies in place on a daily basis. 
  • Liaise with fundraising around donations and donors using Clover system to log all donations. 
  • Update cash sheets at the end of each day and balance against till. 
  • At all times be polite and helpful in your response/manner. 
  • Greet customers when they enter the shop. 
  • Provide assistance to customers as required. 
  • Supporting services across DSC with requests for items that the shop may carry on a daily basis.
  • Support staff arriving with clients in the shop to help them select clothing.

We are looking for an individual with Certificate in Retail Operations, business, social care or Customer Service or a related discipline and 1 year retail experience/charity retail or social care.
