Foróige is an independent, non-profit national voluntary youth organisation engaged in out-of-school youth development and education. The organisation aims to enable young people to involve themselves consciously and actively in their own development and the development of society. Foróige employs over 400 staff and involves thousands of volunteers in the creation and delivery of high quality services to young people through the operation of over 600 volunteer led clubs, the Big Brother Big Sister mentoring programme and over 140 General Youth Services and Special Projects.
Foróige funded by the Department Children & Youth Affairs (DCYA) Targeted Youth Funding Scheme through Dublin & Dun Laoghaire Education & Training Board (DDLETB) now invite applications for the following position:
Tyrrelstown TYFS Service is a Foróige managed service which will identify, recruit and engage targeted young people aged 10 to 24 years of age in all areas of Tyrrelstown. The roles will include 3 late nights (up to 11pm) and regular weekend work. As a response to a youth needs analysis carried out by DDLETB the Service was developed.
The successful applicants must have the following essential requirements;
- Education to Degree standard (note: candidates with exceptional, relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu of degree qualifications)
- A minimum of 1 year relevant work experience in youth Work
- Access to car and full driving licence
- Experience of outreach work
- Experience of working with young people from diverse backgrounds
