CMRF Crumlin provides vital funding for CHI, Crumlin (formerly Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin) and The National Children's Research Centre. CMRF raises in excess of €10m per annum, funding research in the NCRC and capital, equipment, and patient experience support within CHI. We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Fundraising Executive.

Role & Purpose

The Community Fundraising Executive based at CMRF Offices, will play a key role within the Community Fundraising team to empower Communities to develop their own fundraising ideas and to provide facilitation, support and guidance to our national network of fundraisers.

Core Responsibilities

  • Recruit and support fundraising volunteers and local community groups, help and encourage them in their fundraising activities to maximise income, ensuring a high standard of Donor & Fundraiser care is consistently provided.
  • Manage a portfolio of community based funding and support programmes in urban and rural locations throughout Ireland to ensure fundraising targets are achieved.
  • Act as main point of contact for supporters holding events to raise funds for CMRF and build sustainable relationships to encourage continued support.
  • Deliver annual targets and ensure expenditure is kept within the agreed set budget.
  • Answer telephone enquiries from Fundraisers in an appropriate manner and deal with enquiries and requests efficiently.
  • Manage the provision of all necessary Fundraising & Promotional materials for CMRF Fundraisers.
  • Attend Cheque Presentations (outside office hours on occasion) to acknowledge and thank our donors for their efforts
  • Work closely with the Marketing & Comms team and other internal teams to effective support our Community Fundraisers.
  • Identify, meet with & recruit Community groups, sports clubs and local fundraisers to develop Fundraising plans to support OLCHC & the NCRC through Fundraising with CMRF Crumlin
  • Responsibility for managing online fundraising channels
  • Make recommendations to the Head of Fundraising regarding new initiatives to increase income and establish new Fundraising opportunities.
  • Undertake any relevant work delegated or assigned by the Head of Community Fundraising.
  • Other tasks as identified by line manager and the organisation.

Person Profile

  • Strong knowledge of the community fundraising sector
  • Ability to multi-task and experience working in a busy and varied role where the ability to prioritise workload is essential.
  • Experience in building and managing key relationships and the ability to deal with a diverse range of people (experience managing Committee / volunteer groups is desirable)
  • Advanced off and database skills
  • Very strong relationship management skills.
  • Sales/Fundraising skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent organisation and project management skills ( knowledge of online fundraising systems an advantage)
  • Team player / Empower and motivate others while giving guidance to fundraisers & managing expectations.
  • Ideally, hold a third level qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Ambitious with a high level of energy and an exceptional work ethic
  • Full driving licence and access to own transport is essential
