THE DRUM YOUTH PROJECT & CAFE
Foróige, the National Youth Development Organisation, which promotes and fosters youth development through the operation of various youth services in urban and rural areas throughout the country, through the Irish Youth Justice Service and the Dormant Accounts Fund through the in conjunction with An Garda Síochána, invite applications for Full Time Family Support Worker position in the following project:
The Foróige DRUM Youth Project & Health Café was established in September 2009. It is funded by Túsla and Kilkenny County Council and administered by Foróige, The National Youth Development Organisation.
The project aims to enable young people in Kilkenny City and County to involve themselves consciously and actively in their own development and the development of their community so as to enhance their life chances and to assist them in fulfilling their potential. The service is offered to all 10-18 year olds from Kilkenny City and County. It is varied and ultimately aims to meet the ever changing needs of the young people of Kilkenny. The project aims to provide youth work and family support services in Kilkenny City and County to all young people and families referred by Túsla and other agencies. Collaborate closely with Túsla staff and other agencies working with and for the benefit of young people in Kilkenny. Engage with the Local Area Pathways model as it continues to develop in Kilkenny. Develop needs led, outcome based youth services for local young people which will enable them to expand their life skills and provide education and information on relevant youth issues.
The successful applicant will have the following essential requirements;
- ● Education to Degree standard in a relevant area or equivalent work experience (E)
- ● Experience of administrative tasks (E)
- ● Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Data Management systems and Google Drive (E)
- ● Access to car and full driving licence (E)
