Training Executive (Internet Safety & Cyberbullying Programme)

Fulltime and 4 Year Fixed Term contract
Salary:€34,770 - €48,565 DOE
Dublin 8 with travel as required

What will the Training Executive do?

This exciting new Training Executive post will sit within Barnardos Training Team.

The Training Executive plays a key role in the development and implementation of our strategy to expand and rollout Barnardos Internet Safety and Cyberbullying Programme for primary schools over a 4-year period, funded by an exciting new corporate partnership.

The Training Executive will oversee the delivery of interactive workshops for children, teachers and parents on internet safety and cyberbullying and will be supported by a Training Administration Worker to ensure the smooth delivery of the programme nationwide in line with Barnardos training quality assurance framework.

Workshops will be facilitated by a panel of trainers with relevant skills and expertise in this area. The Training Executive will work alongside our corporate partner to promote relevant online educational resources, which are free to all children, parents and teachers in Ireland.

They will line manage the Training Administration Worker who works alongside them on this programme.

Personal attributes of the Training Executive

Experience of the Training Executive

  • A minimum of 3 years experience of developing and facilitating training or workshops with children, parents, teachers on topics such as personal development, well-being, social and emotional development, life-skills, communication, parenting, mental health, internet safety, substance misuse, bullying/cyberbullying etc.
  • Demonstrable experience of planning and delivery of programmes in line with targets.
  • Knowledge of internet safety and cyberbullying issues, concerns, challenges and opportunities relating to children, parents and teachers.
  • Excellent IT skills and working experience of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and database packages.
  • Child protection experience desirable.

Qualifications of the Training Executive

A recognised third level practice qualification (minimum Level 7 on the QQI) in Social Care, Youth and Community Work, Education, Psychology or similar relevant to the role.

A Train the Trainer qualification is highly desirable.

  • Full driving licence and access to the use of a suitably insured car essential.
  • Flexibility in working hours and the ability to travel nationwide in line with the needs of the role.

Training Administration Worker (Internet Safety & Cyberbullying Programme)

Fulltime and 4 Year Fixed Term contract
Salary:€23,187 - €35,919 DOE
Dublin 8.

What will the Training Administration Worker do?

This exciting new role, will provide administration support to the Training Executive (Internet Safety and Cyberbullying) who oversees a corporate partnership which enables Barnardos to provide workshops to children, teachers and parents on internet safety and cyberbullying.

This role will specifically be involved in assisting the Training Executive to promote and organise this training for schools and fulfil finance and customer services database requirements associated with the training in line with funding requirements.

The Administration Worker will also prepare materials and liaise with trainers and schools to ensure the training events run smoothly.

Experience for the Training Administration Worker

  • Minimum of two years directly relevant experience essential.
  • Previous experience of working in a training team or organising events is highly desirable.

Qualifications for the Training Administration Worker

  • Junior Cert or equivalent minimum level of education.
  • A working ability in IT Systems, word processing and finance skills are essential.
