Solis MMC Children’s Services provides responsive, quality services to children and young people who are assessed as being in need. We operate residential centres in counties Louth, Mullingar, Cork and Donegal.

We now have vacancies in for positions within our Residential Disability Services.

Care Assistant – Disability Services

Care Assistants will have an integral practice role guided on a daily basis by the Shift Team Co-ordinators (PPIM) and Centre Manager (PIC) and will ensure that the highest quality of care is provided to children in our care. The role will require administrative duties as well as responsibilities pertaining to the care of the children. The role will also involve a combination of day time hours and wakened night hours which will be determined by the needs of the centre.

Applicants must possess:

  • A recognised professional Social Care or Health Care related qualification to FETAC Level 5 or above.
  • One year’s experience in a residential setting or two years combined experience working with young people within a community disabilities setting or similar.
  • Hold a full driving licence.

Disabilities Residential Support Worker

The role of the Disabilities Residential Support Worker (Hereafter referred to as DRSW) is to work directly with children while contributing to the day-to-day running of the residential centre. The DRSW will retain an integral practice role and ensure that the highest quality of care is provided to young people. The role will also require administrative duties as well as responsibilities pertaining to the progression, practice and implementation of Placement Plan objectives for young people, ensuring that they are receiving the agreed quality and quantity services. The DRSW will be accountable for the centre functioning in the absence of the Centre Manager (PIC) or Shift Co-Ordinator (PPIM).

Applicants must possess:

  • A recognised professional qualification to minimum Diploma level 6 in one of the following disciplines: Social Care, Applied Social Studies, (Psychiatric) Nursing, Social Work, Community Care or Clinical Psychology.
  • One year experience in a residential setting or working with young people within a community disabilities setting or similar.
  • Hold a full driving licence.

Also, within our Residential Support Services we have the following positions:

Residential Support Workers - Day and Night staff - Full Time, Part-Time and Casual Relief – Louth and Mullingar

The post holder will be required to work within a residential setting and provide young people with quality opportunities, experiences and social education, with the aim of contributing to their development and quality of life. Shift patterns for Day Staff comprise two 15hour shifts plus one 10 hour shift weekly. Night Staff comprise four 10 hour shifts weekly.

Social Care Nurse - Ardee and Collon

The role of the Social Care Nurse involves working directly with the children in the Residential Centre and will encompass both clinical and social care tasks. The Social Care Nurse will provide support to the children in regard to their clinical needs on a daily basis such as enteral feeding and will actively participate in upholding strong clinical governance within the Residential Centre as set out by the Centre Manager and CNM. The Social Care Nurse will contribute to the daily running of the Residential Centre and will also support the children in meeting planned goals and objectives such as educational and development needs while working as part of the multidisciplinary team within Residential Centre.

Applicants must possess:

  • Applicants must be on the Live Register of NMBI (RGN/RNID/RSCN)
  • Experience in Residential Care desirable however not essential
  • Experience in management of PEG feeding and Epilepsy desirable however not essential as all training will be provided
  • Hold a full driving license

Residential Support Workers: Night Staff (Full-Time) – Cork

We are currently recruiting for the positions of Residential Support Workers: night staff (Full Time), in Cork.

The post holder will be required to work within a residential setting and provide young people with quality opportunities, experiences and social education, with the aim of contributing to their development and quality of life. Shift patterns night Staff comprise four 10 hour shifts weekly.

Applicants must possess:

  • A recognised professional qualification to minimum Diploma level 6 in one of the following disciplines: Social Care, Applied Social Studies, Youth and Community Care.
  • Hold a full driving licence and access to a car
  • Minimum of 1 Year experience in a residential setting or combined experience working with young people with challenging behaviour in a community setting or similar.
