is seeking a

Youth Worker (Youth Employment Initiative)

County Kildare LEADER Partnership has been awarded funding under the Youth Employment Initiative to work with young people aged 16 – 18 in the Athy area. We are seeking an experienced Youth Worker to lead the implementation of this project.

The successful candidate will be required to work on a 1:1 and group basis with the participants. S/he will also be required to organise and deliver a personal development programme which will engage participants in group activities.

The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification and have recent experience of working with young people who are unemployed or early school leavers. S/he will also have a good knowledge of issues affecting young people, will possess a knowledge of supports available locally to the young people at risk and will have the ability to communicate with young people and understand appropriate youth work interventions.

S/he will be a self-starter, prepared to work flexibly and have a current full driving licence.

A full-time fixed term contract for a period up to 31 May 2020 will be offered to the successful candidate with salary negotiable with experience. Garda vetting will apply to this position.
