CS3 @ Foróige TechSpace
Foróige, the leading youth organisation in Ireland, which promotes and fosters youth development through the operation of various youth services in urban and rural areas throughout the country since 1952, in partnership with TechSpace and Camara Education Ireland (www.camaraireland.ie) invite applications for the following position:
CS @ Foróige TechSpace is a creative, computer science (CS) education programme for young people. It is a partnership between Foróige and Camara Education Ireland, proudly sponsored by Google.org . The project aims to bring Computer Science (CS) education training, activities, support, events, and professional qualifications to 348 youth, Volunteer and Paid, workers and 3,000 young people by its end. This role is to develop and support new and existing volunteer led TechSpace clubs in Foróige projects and communities.
The successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the education and youth development sector and meet an array of individuals and organisations throughout the TechSpace Network. They will be offered a contract of employment up to 30th June 2020 and will be expected to work a minimum of 35 hours per week. The role will involve travel to and work in counties Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim and Sligo and the employment base is likely to be in Cavan or Sligo – this can be discussed.
The successful applicant must have the following essential requirements;
- Education to Degree standard in level 8 or above in a relevant subject
- Paid or voluntary, experience working with young people
- Access to car and full Irish driving licence
- Understanding of and enthusiasm for Computer Science Creative software and STEAM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths).
- Ability to recruit, support and retain suitable adult volunteers
