Full-time Outreach Youth Worker (35hours) – Outreach Team
Ballymun Regional Youth Resource (BRYR) is a professional youth work organisation working for the welfare, development & well-being of all 10-24 year-old young people in Ballymun & surrounding areas. BRYR is seeking a Full Time Youth Worker (35hours per week) to work as part of the Outreach team in a very busy, demanding and dynamic youth work environment. The role will require evening and weekend work. The Outreach team provide consistent, accessible support & advocacy services for young people. We believe our relationships with young people on the streets are the key to successful engagement. The relationship is the vehicle to bring about change and positive outcomes
The person will be required to work as part of the BRYR Outreach Team, directly managed by the Project Leader of the Outreach team and requires a staff member that can engage young people, especially vulnerable and at risk young people from a variety of backgrounds, in one to one work on the street, group work, mentoring, street & non-formal education programmes, advocacy, club based work and goal focused work. Other duties will include reporting on the work of the various programmes, interagency work, best practice & policy development. The person will work in line with the ethos that underpins BRYR and its principles/values as a professional Youth Work organisation.
- An NSETS recognised professionally endorsed qualification in Youth Work or Youth and Community Work.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Youth Worker.
- Experience of working as an Outreach Youth Worker would be a distinct advantage.
This post is funded through Ballymun Local Drugs & Alcohol Task Force with funding from the HSE. CDYSB Youth worker salary scale applies and a panel may be formed for any future vacancies. Garda Vetting will apply to this post.
