LeChèile Donnycarney Community & Youth Centre CLG, also known as LeChèile Donnycarney, is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. The objective of LeChèile Donnycarney is for the benefit of the community to organise, manage, facilitate and co-ordinate activities and services that will encourage the development of educational, social, cultural, recreational and spiritual needs of the general community including young people at risk in Donnycarney and neighbouring areas. LeChèile is a registered charity, the company was incorporated in June 2003 and is currently operating a thriving community facilities and services provider for Donnycarney and neighbouring communities.
The LeChèile Donnycarney building consists of offices which have non-profit tenants offering community services, a youth centre and various community facilities; such as a large sports hall, multi-purpose fitness studios, arts & crafts room and meeting room areas. The Centre is open on Monday – Friday 8am – 10.30pm, Saturdays 10am – 4pm and Sundays on request.
LeChèile Donnycarney operations, finance, HR and administration are overseen and managed by the Centre Manager. The Centre’s staff also includes an Administrator and a team of Caretakers. The Centre Manager reports to the Board of Directors and closely works with HR, Finance & Funding and Facility Development Sub-Committees. The Centre Manager will assist the Board in the development, design and implementation of new/updated policies and procedures in accordance with The Charities Governance Code 2014.
LeChèile Donnycarney receives a financial contribution from the Department of Children and Youth Affairs under the Targeted Youth Services Fund via the fund administrator City of Dublin Youth Service Board (CDYSB). The LeChèile Donnycarney building is owned by Dublin City Council (DCC). In order to maintain the operation of the centre as a going concern LeChèile Donnycarney generate additional income via tenancy, meeting room and sport space room hire and seek to identify additional contribution to increase revenue.
The Board of Directors are now recruiting a Centre Manager to lead a financially healthy not for profit organisation.
