Crinan Youth Project, is a drug treatment programme for 14-21 year olds with drug and/or alcohol problems.  Working from a social change model and through the use of ACRA (adolescent community reinforcement approach) to empower young people to address their substance use and change their lifestyle.   Crinan Youth Project is seeking to employ a skilled, dynamic worker for the following post: 

OUTREACH WORKER POST – EVENING SERVICE

The person we are seeking will be enthusiastic, highly motivated and will have the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a community based project.  The main tasks include:

  • Carrying out assessments with young people
  • Careplanning/keyworking
  • Referrals to other agencies/treatment programmes
  • Devising and delivering training and recreational programmes for groups of young people in treatment and in recovery from drug dependency.
  • Individual and group work – in-house and outreach
  • Out of hours/evening work and street outreach work  
  • Creating a supportive environment
  • Maintaining records – computerised and report writing
  • Advocacy work

Essential

A Professionally endorsed qualification in Youth and Community work or Addiction Studies or An equivalent professional qualification or relevant degree and experience of working with young people at risk. 

Desirable:  1-2 years full time experience of working with young people at risk.  Knowledge of ACRA an advantage.  

Salary: Equivalent to HSE Outreach Worker scale
