SLIGO PEACE IV DIGITAL HISTORY PROJECT
Foróige is an independent, non-profit national voluntary youth organisation engaged in out-of-school youth development and education. The organisation aims to enable young people to involve themselves consciously and actively in their own development and the development of society. Foróige employs over 400 staff and involves thousands of volunteers in the creation and delivery of high quality services to young people through the operation of over 600 Foróige Clubs, the Big Brother Big Sister Programme and over 140 General Youth Services and Special Projects. Foróige in conjunction with the EU's PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body now invite applications for the following position:
PROJECT WORKER (21 hours)
This project has been supported by the EU's PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body. The EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation is a unique Structural Funds programme aimed at reinforcing progress towards a peaceful and stable society in Northern Ireland and the Border Region of Ireland. The PEACE Programme will provide support to projects that contribute towards the promotion of greater levels of peace and reconciliation. The Programme will also place a strong emphasis on promoting cross-community relations and understanding, in order to create a more cohesive society.
This is a fixed term contract ending September 2019 and will be based in Sligo Town, the successful candidate will work a minimum of 21 hours per week.
The successful applicant will have all the following essential requirements;
- Education to Degree standard in level 8 or above in a relevant subject
- Paid or voluntary, experience working with young people
- Access to car and full Irish driving licence
- Knowledge in using digital media on how to produce interviews using video and audio recording equipment
- Experience in digital archiving and online research
- Understanding of the Peace programme agenda
