Foróige is an independent, non-profit national voluntary youth organisation engaged in out-of-school youth development and education. The organisation aims to enable young people to involve themselves consciously and actively in their own development and the development of society. Foróige employs over 400 staff and involves thousands of volunteers in the creation and delivery of high quality services to young people through the operation of over 600 Foróige Clubs, the Big Brother Big Sister Programme and over 140 General Youth Services and Special Projects.
PROJECT WORKER, LOUTH
AMPLIFY is a new youth-led initiative, delivered through an experienced cross border youth work partnership involving Foróige, YouthAction NI, NI Youth Forum and Youth Work Ireland. This creative partnership will maximise the reach to young people who have fallen on hard times & who experience volatile & chaotic lives & where their vulnerability is heightened. This innovative cross border & cross community programme will have personal, community & societal impacts, especially in making a positive contribution to building a cohesive society.
The successful candidate will be offered a fixed term contract of employment subject to review in August 2018. The role will be based in Co. Louth and the salary for this post is €34,396 pro rata per annum.
The successful applicant will have the following essential requirements;
- Education to National Diploma or Degree standard preferably in Youth / Community Work (note: candidates with exceptional, relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu of degree qualifications)
- A minimum of 1 year relevant work experience
- Access to car and full driving licence
- Ability to engage target group
