The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is an independent public body established under the Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1992.

Mission Statement
To protect and improve the natural environment for present and future generations, taking into account the environmental, social and economic principles of sustainable development.

There are four divisions in the organisation: Corporate Affairs, Environmental Management and Planning, Licensing and Control and Environmental Monitoring and Laboratory Services.
