Friday 13th September 2019 Team Leaders and Volunteers
Barnardos supports children whose well being is under threat, by working with them,their families and communities and by campaigning for the rights of children. Barnardos was established in Ireland in 1962 and is Ireland's leading independent children's charity.
We need you on Friday 13th September 2019 to help with organised bag packs and on-street collections in communities across the country.
This is a fun opportunity to take part in a very worthy cause. Not only will you be giving back to the community, you will also get the opportunity to meet people, make new friends, and establish new networks.
Main duties & tasks will include:
- Acting as volunteer Team Leader at an agreed collection point in your community.
- Engaging with members of the public to represent Barnardos and encourage donations.
- Use fundraising materials to promote the campaign and the work of Barnardos.
There is the scope for flexibility in this role - you can either lead your team on site for the whole collection or simply start the collection off; assist with the changeover team during the day and then be there at the end to complete – we’d be happy to discuss options with you!!
What's required for this position
- An interest in the work of Barnardos
- Event management/ Fundraising
- Personable Skills
Level of English required for this role: Intermediate English
Minimum time commitment: Once Off
Team Leaders – 4 to 8 hrs approx
Volunteers – 2 to 4 hrs approx
Location of volunteering opportunity: Nationwide in communities across all 26 counties around the country.

- Insurance cover
