VSI: 3 funded volunteer projects in the UK

The European Voluntary Service (EVS) is an EU funded programme that gives young people (aged 18 to 30) the opportunity to volunteer in an organisation abroad. The funding covers travel expenses to and from the project as well as accommodation, food, a small personal allowance ("pocket money"), insurance, language training and local transport during the project.

VSI are currently looking for volunteers for 3 funded EVS projects in the UK:

1. Grassmarket Community Project in Edinburgh

Great project for a volunteer passionate to work alongside some of Edinburgh's most marginalised and vulnerable adults assisting in the delivery of a dynamic programme of educational, social, cultural and enterprising activities.

Start date: 1st September 2019

Duration: 12 months

2. Success 4 All: “Young People Learning From Each Other” project in Newcastle upon Tyne

Join the Success 4 All charity that tackles educational inequality with free to low-cost access to a peer tutor, online learning programmes, clubs and summer schools. Their motto is 'Young People Learning From Each Other' and they believe that young people learn best from each other, provided that the right relaxed learning environment is created.

Start date: 1st June 2019

Duration: 8 months

3. Anti-racism through football and other sports in Plymouth

We’re looking for a volunteer who is active and loves football to join this project and work on social inclusion through sports a UK charity Plymouth Hope promoting racial harmony, social inclusion and community participation through football and other sports. The charity also assists its overseas branches and partners using sport as a tool for poverty relief in education and health.

Start date: 1st March 2019

Duration: 12 months
