Cairde is looking for new Board members!
Cairde is seeking socially conscious individuals to devote some of their time to becoming a Board Member for our organisation. If you are someone who has the knowledge and expertise to benefit a great cause, then this is the position for you!
Cairde operates the Health Information and Advocacy Centres in Dublin North Central and Balbriggan, County Dublin, which provides individual health advocacy and relevant, culturally appropriate health information to ethnic minority individual and groups.
Board Members are expected to attend 11 meetings per year. Board members are also asked to be reasonably accessible for ad-hoc meetings in-between scheduled Board meetings.
The Board of Cairde is responsible for giving overall strategic direction to the organization, defining controls to safeguard the organisation’s resources, approving the delegated authority levels to management and reporting on stewardship and performance to the key stakeholders.
Skills and expertise of our new Board members should include:
- Experience with general board governance;
- Involvement with charitable organisations would be an advantage;
- Experience in leadership roles;
- Understanding and experience in human rights and equality; ethnicity, migration and health; health policy; governance; law, media; community development; research; risk management. This list is not exhaustive.
