
IICP – Commences September 2017
The Professional Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP Recognised) provides comprehensive training that currently meets the required standards for professional accreditation (subject to the completion of post-qualification counselling hours as required by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
The programme is integrative in approach embracing the concepts of Cognitive Behavioural Approaches, Choice Theory, Person-Centred Counselling and Multicultural Counselling and Therapy. IICP also have established links with an on-site clinical placement, which enables students to complete clinical hours (100 hours minimum) as required by IACP. Award:
Learners exit the programme with an IACP Recognised Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. Following completion of the Diploma, learners have the option of undertaking further study to obtain a Level 7, Level 8 or Master’s Degree.
Aimed Towards
This programme is designed for people who wish to become professional therapists or for those who have an opportunity to use counselling skills as part of their work. It will be of interest particularly to those who work within the caring professions
Future Developments in Statutory Regulation:
Regulation for counsellors and psychotherapists in Ireland is currently under review. One element of the proposed change by the statutory regulation organisation, CORU, is the creation of a minimum standard of education required for practice. While CORU has yet to establish a registration board or set academic standards for therapy training, it is accepted that the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) will be utilised in such a process. The IICP RPL BA (Hons) Degree is mapped to Level 8 on the NFQ.
Training Days: 1 day per week during academic calendar
Tuesday from 9:30am-5:00pm 18th September 2017 or Friday from 9:30am-5:00pm 22nd September 2017
Diploma Fees:
Year 1: €4,400.00
Year 2 & Summer Semester: €5200.00, (There is the option of a third year to obtain the Honours Degree)
