Life in TechniColour
Music & film celebration with CanTeen Ireland
Saturday 7th March
The Sugar Club, Dublin
12 - 1.30pm
Join us for an epic showcase of music & films with young members of CanTeen Ireland, the national young people's cancer support group
- Original music created and performed by CanTeen members with acclaimed musician and composer Seán Carpio
- Premiere of short films by CanTeen members with artists Seán Carpio and Alan Brennan: From the misunderstood outsider in “After Boo” to the light-hearted relief of “Billy the Bat” to the people that get you through dark days in “TechnoColour,” these shorts with original soundtracks were created on Helium’s award-winning community film project
- Special musical guests including DJ Kelly-Anne Byrne
- Short documentary: We go behind the scenes on Helium’s music and film project, hearing from the young people on how they created their film works and soundtracks
CanTeen Ireland have been making movies and music with us for the last 6 years as part of our Two Suitcases Project. We made Life in TechniColour in the summer of 2019. Learn about the young people's inspiration and how they made the work here.
Life in TechniColour is produced by Helium Arts in partnership with CanTeen Ireland.
The project is funded by the Arts Council, Dublin City Council Arts Office and CanTeen Ireland.
