The National Women’s Council of Ireland (NWCI) is inviting members and friends to join them at a gathering in Kilrush Library, Co. Clare on the 15th October at 3pm. NWCI and West Clare Family Resource Centre have engaged women from Kilrush and the surrounding area to work with an artist facilitator over a few sessions. Representations of the experiences of the women and poverty in rural communities will be presented at a public gathering.
Speakers at the event include Ellen O Malley Dunlop; Chairperson, NWCI and Mary O Donoghue, Coordinator of West Clare Family Resource Centre
There will be music and light refreshments.
The theme chosen by the UN to celebrate 17 October 2019 is: “Acting together to empower children, their families and communities to end poverty.”
The theme of the International Day of Rural Women 2019 is: Rural Women and Girls Building Climate Resilience
