[Digital Art] Culture Night at the French Embassy 2019[fr]
Join us for "Phonofolium et Lux": an interactive & immersive artwork by French artists Scenocosme who will bring to life our façade at 66 Merrion Square, Dublin 2.
Discover a living tree that reacts with sounds and lights to the human electrostatic contact.
When the audience caresses the shrub, different sounds and lights are revealed. The intensity of the light varies according to the proximity of the contact with the tree. In the darkness, the tree is only lit by small spotlights. The interactions of the spectator with the tree illuminate and highlight the architecture of the space around it.
This extraordinary sensory experience questions our invisible energy relationships with living beings. By making audible and visible what escapes our perception, it reminds us that our environment is made of living beings, reactive to our biological aura. Plants are natural and living sensors, receptive to various energy flows that come from our bodies or their environment. The tree signifies its existence through a cry, a song, an acoustic vibration.
Enjoy this hands-on experience with digital art! Fun & Play for all!

Through their artworks, Scenocosme artists create hybrids between plants and digital technology. In this kind of artwork the artists interpret the flows perceived by the tree by proposing a sound interaction to enhance sensory relations. By mixing reality and imagination, Scenocosme offers a sensory experience that questions our invisible energy relationships with living beings. The light which enhances the architecture is vibrating and fragile, because it depends on the electrostatic energy of bodies.
