“Active Hope is not wishful thinking. Active Hope is waking up to the beauty of life on whose behalf we can act.” ― Joanna Macy
This workshop is aimed at people who are concerned about the social and ecological crises we face, in Ireland and the world. Many of us are moved to act when we recognise injustice. But how do we sustain our actions and remain hopeful when things get tough? This workshop will allow you to pause, reflect and reconnect with your inner passion but also express how you feel about the social and ecological crises we face.
Active Hope provides us with tools to stay hopeful and resilient in times of despair and apathy. Drawing on Joanna Macy’s ‘Work that Reconnects’, Active Hope explores deepening our sense of gratitude, honouring our feelings, seeing with different perspectives and going forth with renewed energy.
Join us for an afternoon of deepening connections through gentle yoga, voice-work, meditation and reflective practices as a way to rebuild and re-ignite. The workshop will be facilitated by Claudia Tormey, environmental activist and trained Active Hope facilitator, Miriam Needham, yoga teacher and Rachel Dempsey, educator and voice-work facilitator (LYCS/Global Harmonies).
