‘Understanding and Responding to Coercive Control with Professor Evan Stark’
Safe Ireland in collaboration with Clare Women’s Network and Domestic Violence Advocacy Service are co-hosting two multi-disciplinary one day conferences in the following locations:
- Sligo, 12th December
- Ennis, Co. Clare, 14th December
Speakers at 'Understanding and Responding to Coercive Control' include world-renowned Professor Emeritus Evan Stark, leading UK domestic violence expert Davina James-Hanman and Irish legal expert Caroline Counihan BL.
These conferences have four key objectives:
- To increase participants understanding of coercive control
- To provide information about the new measures soon to be commenced in Irish Law relating to domestic violence
- To support the development of participants skills to recognise and respond effectively to domestic violence
- To provide an opportunity for participants to network in their region
Professor Emeritus Evan Stark, in association with Safe Ireland will also present at the Strengthening the Responses Conference being held by St. Patricks Mental Health Service on December 3rd.
