STAND Book Club provides a space for people to get together and talk about books that opened their minds, made them mad, got them to see the world differently or encouraged them to take action. Our guest speakers are Irish activists, thinkers & campaigners who come to share their personal stories about their motivations, their experiences and their thoughts about local & global justice issues. Our speaker for our August book club is Una Mullally, a journalist for The Irish Times whose interests include popular culture, feminism, and LGBT issues. She has chosen 'Bluets' by Maggie Nelson as her book of the month. There will be €5 entry fee on the night with funds going to a group of Una's choice - ACT UP Dublin.
Come along to Books Upstairs at 6pm on 20th August; all are welcome!
