Climate Change is already having a significant impact on many of the world's countries, including a disproportionate impact on many of the poorest countries who have done the least to cause it. The financial system, instead of helping these countries rebuild, is in fact making their situation worse.
Join us on Thursday, 26 July to hear from two expert speakers about how the financial system is failing these countries, and the possible steps we can take.
Jurgen Kaiser is the Co-ordinator of Jubilee Germany (Erlassjahr) and will speak to us about a new plan for debt relief for climate change affected countries.
Cliona Sharkey is Policy Advisor with Trócaire and will look at the context of the broader financial system and its effects.
