The Irish Council for Civil Liberties welcomes the verdicts of the jury of the Stardust inquiry.

In light of verdict, we in ICCL redouble our call for comprehensive reform of the Coroner service, in line with our research and the recent report of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Justice. The lack of direct support for bereaved families is one of the fundamental deficiencies in the Service and must be rectified.

Our new Family Support Service offers one-to-one support for the families of LGBTQ+ young people across Ireland. We can meet you in-person or online and share information and resources. Our Family Support Worker will also answer online queries. This is a free and confidential service.
