Extern transforms lives as the leading social justice charity across the island of Ireland. We believe another chance can change a life. Each year we speak up for and support more than 25,000 adults, children, young people and families.

Volunteers can help us to enable our clients to overcome challenges, empower positive change and transform their lives. By contributing your time and skills, together we can help offer even more life-changing supports to the most vulnerable in our communities. Further details on volunteering with Extern can be found here https://www.extern.org/volunteer-with-us

Extern’s Intensive Family Support Service is a community-based project that provides support to young people at risk of engaging, or already engaged, in criminal activity. The team works with the young person, their family, and positive supports within the community to identify alternative positive pathways and opportunities for development.

Youth Justice Support Volunteers aid the staff teams to facilitate small group sessions with young people as part of their package of support. Applications are particularly welcomed from those who have lived experience of the Youth Justice system.
