Volunteer Teachers

Are you interested in teaching and/or youth work? Would you be confident teaching Junior and Leaving cert subjects?

Cork Life Centre is recruiting for volunteers to work with us from January 2023 – May 2023.

Cork Life Centre is an alternative centre of education that works with young people aged 12 – 18 who are no longer in the mainstream school system. The centre and its team of volunteers work with these students 1: 1 and in small groups to prepare them for the Junior and Leaving Certificate examinations, while equally focusing on social and personal development.

Teaching/Youth Work experience is preferred, but not essential.

Volunteers must be able to commit to consistent hours each week, for the upcoming academic year (September ’22 – May ‘23). Option for hours are 9.30 – 2.30 (Two days a week, Mon – Fri), or 2.30 – 4.30 (1 day per week, Mon – Thurs)

Prospective applicants must be over 18, and will need to undergo interview, Garda vetting process, and reference checks.
