Join us and use your skills to make a real difference
Extern transforms lives as the leading social justice charity across the island of Ireland. We believe another chance can change a life. Each year we speak up for and support more than 25,000 adults, children, young people and families.
Volunteers can help us to enable our clients to overcome challenges, empower positive change and transform their lives. By contributing your time and skills, together we can help offer even more life-changing supports to the most vulnerable in our communities. Further details on volunteering with Extern can be found here https://www.extern.org/volunteer-with-us
Extern delivers a range of Youth Diversion programmes which support young people aged 12-17 who are at risk of, or who are involved in anti-social and/or criminal behaviour, and provide them with targeted supports to stop their offending and become positive contributors to society. The programme offers the young participants opportunities for education, employment and training as well as sport, art, music and other activities which contribute to improving employability and citizenship. In partnership with the HSE, the Iscoil programme will support young people to obtain an education and achieve their potential. Volunteers will engage with young people, alongside members of staff, by supervising learning activities and encouraging young people to achieve their goals.
