Gerri’s Place is a new non-profit social enterprise providing early intervention and support for people who are struggling with their emotional or mental wellbeing through the provision of holistic person centred breaks and a supportive online community.

Gerri’s Place seeks a finance professional for a volunteer role within the organisation, ideally with at least 5 years’ experience.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Financial management experience.
  • An appreciation and knowledge of the Not-For-Profit sector.
  • An understanding of and a commitment to our purpose.
  • To have insight and comprehensive knowledge of charity financial policies, controls and best practices

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a system of regular reports for our trustees and stakeholders
  • Establish financial controls and procedures and ensure that the organization is compliant with best practice principles
  • Preparation of accounts using industry standard accounting software.
  • Financial forecasting and risk analysis
  • The creation and presentation of reports, budgets and financial statements
  • Advise the Board on financial implications of proposals, cash flow, projects
  • Oversee and grow the finance function from that of an early start up to a mature, successful organisation.

Time commitment is flexible and to be decided with the volunteer.

This is an exciting initiative and once ready to launch will hopefully provide much needed early intervention support for people experiencing a mental health challenge.This is a great opportunity to support a start up and to be part of its success.
