Volunteer Role Title: Volunteer Gardener

Crosscare Service: Crosscare Drug & Alcohol Programme, based in the Blanchardstown CROSSCARE Centre

Volunteer Manager: Susan O’Neill

Volunteer Role:


  • To develop and maintain garden space at the back of the centre, potential use for work related meetings or gatherings
  • To be responsible for all aspect of garden, mowing lawn etc.
  • Sourcing of stock where required
  • To work on one’s own initiative
  • To ensure all health and safety issues are identified


  • To maintain open communication with staff and volunteer manager
  • To observe health and safety best practice
  • To observe clear professional boundaries at all times
  • To commit to volunteer times slot allocated

Essential Skills/Qualities:

  • Basic knowledge of gardening

Desirable skills/Qualities:

  • As above

Support & Learning opportunities offered to volunteer:

  • Working with individuals from a broad range of backgrounds.
  • Checks in with staff and volunteer manager.
  • Out of pocket expenses reimbursed as per induction

Location: Drug & Alcohol Programme (DAP), Main St Blanchardstown, D15K0Y6

Volunteer days/hours:

2 hrs per week
flexible re day ( Monday to Friday only)
preference: morning time slots

Commitment Duration: TBC
