Wicklow Dementia Support: Volunteer Musical Director
Title: Volunteer Musical Director for once weekly Music/Singing Session with People with Dementia - Musical Memories
Time: Friday mornings from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm
Purpose: To provide an opportunity for people with dementia and their care partner to sing and make music together.
Reports to: Musical Memories Coordinator
About Wicklow Dementia Support
Wicklow Dementia Support CLG is a small volunteer only charity. It was established in 2010 to provide support to people with dementia in Co Wicklow to enable them maintain their identity, interests and independence, living life to the fullest in their own home and community, while also meeting the needs of family carers for social engagement, information and respite
The person will lead and support the group to engage in the music for an hour once a week.
What's required for this position
Some knowledge or experience of music therapy or of directing/leading music session; some understanding of dementia and an interest in helping people have access to life-affirming music,

- Support/ advice/ recognition.
The role of the Musical Director
- Develop and deliver a music programme for service users
- Build relationships with clients based on mutual respect, dignity and support.
