Foróige’s Big Brother Big Sister Mentoring Programme: Volunteers
Foróige’s Big Brother Big Sister (BBBS) mentoring programme are looking for adult volunteers in Dublin Central!
Foróige’s BBBS is an exciting youth mentoring programme which matches a young person (10-18) with an adult volunteer.
The basic idea is that a friendship will form between the young person and adult mentor that will promote the positive development of the young person. The young person and adult mentor are matched based on common interests and personality. They meet once a week, for a year, and together they decide on the type of activities that they both enjoy and would like to do. This role can be flexible for both the mentor and the young person, meetings will happen at a place and time that is mutually convenient.
What is expected of volunteers?
Volunteers are asked to spend 1-2 hours per week with their little brother/little sister and the initial commitment is for one year
What will I get out of it?
It’s an opportunity to be a positive role model and potentially make a difference in a young person’s life. It’s also great fun, you'll do things you haven't done in years while also gaining experience in youth mentoring
Location: Dublin central
