Volunteer Counsellors wanted at Sligo Rape Crisis Centre
An opportunity has come up for someone who wishes to be part of a team of dedicated counsellors providing trauma counselling in the Sligo, Leitrim and West Cavan area for two or more hours per week. Supports, out-of-pocket expenses, clinical supervision and insurance are provided. You must be accredited or pre-accredited with IACP/ IAHIP/ IAC or BACP. We provide counselling and support services for survivors of sexual violence and historical child abuse. We help all our clients heal from the effects of trauma. We also work towards help ending sexual violence in our society through outreach work locally, regionally and nationally.
How we offer services
We offer one-to-one counselling in-person, on-line and by phone, we have a helpline Monday to Friday 10am – 1pm, we do group work, outreach and advocacy, court and Garda accompaniment.
Where we offer services
We cover the North-West and midlands region of Sligo, Leitrim and West Cavan. Our headquarters are in Sligo town, and we have bases in Carrick-on-Shannon and Manor Hamilton.
