West Cork Women Against Violence: Sexual Violence Specialisation Training Course

WCWAV/RCNI/RCM

WEST CORK WOMEN AGAINST VIOLENCE: SEXUAL VIOLENCE SPECIALISATION TRAINING COURSE: OCTOBER 2022 – APRIL 2023, LEAP, WEST CORK

West Cork Women Against Violence (WCWAV’s) Sexual Violence Project is organising a specialisation training course in sexual violence for qualified counsellors and psychotherapists who are fully accredited or working towards accreditation. The training will be delivered by Rape Crisis Mid-West and aims to increase participant’s understanding and knowledge of rape and sexual assault and support practitioners to be part of a community of people working to end sexual violence.

The training is accredited by RCNI and each module will contribute towards CPD points for the year.

We are seeking counsellors and psychotherapists who will be committed to working in the area of sexual violence. Following successful completion of the training, participants will form a panel of counsellors and psychotherapists for referrals from WCWAV’s Sexual Violence Project. We aim to set up a panel that will enable a geographical spread across West Cork to support access for clients.

The cost of the training is subsidised and includes group clinical supervision on the basis that participants agree to be part of a panel for referrals from WCWAV Sexual Violence Project post training.

For further information on the training and post training commitments; and for an application form please contact:
