This revised comprehensive six day Foundation Programme in Sexual Health Promotion (FPSHP) is for health, education, youth and community service providers who wish to develop their confidence, skills and knowledge in the area of sexual health promotion. In the mid-west it is delivered by HSE Health Promotion and Improvement, HSE Health and Wellbeing in partnership with GOSHH (Gender Orientation Sexual Health HIV).
The aim of the FPSHP is:
To enhance participants’ capacity to incorporate sexual health promotion into their work through the development of their comfort levels, confidence, knowledge and skills in relation to sexual health.
Sexual Rights and Inequalities, A Life Course Approach to Sexual Health, Gender, Sexual Orientation and Inclsuive Practice, Sexual Health Promotion in the Irish Context, Relationships, Intimacy and Sexual Pleasure, Consent and the Law and Physical Sexual Health.
Certification and Accreditation
This Course is certified by the HSE Health and Wellbeing and is accredited by:
- The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland as a Category 1 course awarding 35 Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
- The Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and awarded 36 CPD points
The course is FREE and is run 2 days a month over three months and the dates are as follows:
- 3rd and 4th October 2022
- 15th and 16th November 2022
- 5th and 6th December 2022
The closing date for receipt of completed applications is Friday 27th May 2022.
Please note that a fully completed application form is essential in order to progress to the second stage which is an online interview. Online interviews are held with all shortlisted applicants who have submitted a completed application form in late May and places are allocated based on the outcomes of these interviews.
