17:30-18:00 Registration and Coffee/Light Refreshments
18:00-20:30 Workshop

Overview

Community and adult educators often work with students who are in the middle of, or have come through, difficult and stressful experiences. This workshop cannot make you an art therapist, but it will give you some useful exercises, drawing ideas from art therapy, to integrate into a classroom to help students to relax and reflect.

The workshop will give a brief overview into what art therapy itself is. Then it will have a practical session where participants can experience an art-based exercise which can be brought into a classroom setting.

Materials

All materials for this workshop will be provided. Materials will be those which are easily accessible, to enable the participants to replicate the experience with their own students.

Participants

This event is aimed at educators who are teaching/training adult learners any subject(s). You do not need any prior knowledge of art, or any artist abilities to take part.

Booking

Attendance is free and registration is requested via Eventbrite.

This workshop is hosted by Léargas and by EPALE Ireland (the Electronic Platform for Adult Educators), which is co-funded by the European Commission (under Erasmus+) and SOLAS.
