ABC of Autism Continuing Personal Development Course

INTRODUCTION
The ABC of Autism course is specifically designed for anyone who lives or works with a child or an adult on the autism spectrum
The course will be of particular benefit to educators including class teachers, resource teachers, special needs assistants as well as administrators, social care workers, employers, and parents/guardians of autistic children or adults.
COURSE CONTENT
This unique course is designed to equip educators, parents, healthcare professionals and other practitioner with evidence-based autism informed strategies to meet the needs of children and young adults on the autism spectrum from diagnoses to adulthood,
Participants will gain practical skills and knowledge on how to assess and support children and young people on the autism spectrum in a range of settings,
Learn how to develop Individual Support Plans (ISP’s) Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) Individual Transition Plans (ITPs)
Learn effective strategies for increasing communication, managing sensory challenges, problem solving, time management, learning skills, managing behaviour, building self-awareness, self-esteem and self-confidence.
Gain an understanding of how to support children and young people with sensory issues, anxiety, emotional and relationship difficulties related to Autism
- 8 modules of instruction and guidance over 10 weeks
- Downloadable resources to extend the lessons.
- Four assignments - support and guidance will be provided.
- A Certificate of CPD will be awarded to those who complete the course
