Research Participants Required for a Counselling / Psychotherapy Study
Research study exploring the mandatory reporting of childhood abuse during counselling and psychotherapy.
My name is Sharon Cunningham. I am a Chartered Psychologist and am also studying for a Doctorate in Psychotherapy at DCU. As part of my course, I am researching how counselling and psychotherapy clients experience the mandatory reporting of their childhood abuse once it has been disclosed in therapy. What this process is like for the counselling client, how they experience it and make sense of it.
So if you;
- Are attending or have attended counselling or psychotherapy
- Disclosed that you experienced childhood abuse
- And a report was made to Tusla (The Child & Family Agency)
Then I like to hear from you.
Participation in the study will involve attending a research interview with me lasting about an hour, where I will ask you about your experience of the mandatory process.
This video tells you more about the study, giving a brief overview and what would be involved if you decided to participate.
