Central Bank of Ireland: Seeking Submissions in relation to two Consultation Papers

Central Bank of Ireland

The Central Bank of Ireland is currently seeking submissions in relation to two Consultation Papers and would like to hear from interested individuals and organisations.

1. Review of the Standard Financial Statement Code of Conduct on Mortgage Arrears 2013 and Consumer Protection Code 2012

The Standard Financial Statement (SFS) is the document which lenders use to obtain financial information from borrowers in or facing financial difficulties under the Mortgage Arrears Resolution Process set out in the Code of Conduct on Mortgage Arrears. The SFS is used by your lender to assess a borrower’s individual financial circumstances and to decide whether or not to offer an alternative repayment arrangement and what type of arrangement is appropriate and sustainable to the borrower’s circumstances.

The Central Bank has published a consultation document on proposed enhancements to the Standard Financial Statement document and invites submissions from interested stakeholders on the questions raised in the consultation paper.

The closing date for submissions is Tuesday, 20 April 2021.

2. CP136 - Consultation on Enhancing our Engagement with Stakeholders

The Central Bank has published a consultation paper which includes proposals to enhance the Central Bank’s stakeholder engagement in certain areas, and to build on existing engagement with relevant stakeholders to facilitate greater discussion of cross-sector, strategic issues that affect the Central Bank’s oversight of the financial system.
