Volunteers wanted: Exercise and bone health in people with cancer which has spread to the bone

A new study involving Trinity College Dublin is seeking volunteers with bone metastases due to breast, prostate or lung cancer to participate in research. The Ex-Met study will help researchers understand the relationship between physical activity and bone health. Study results will improve the information available to health professionals prescribing exercise and inform future exercise recommendations for people with bone metastases. To learn more about this study visit: The Palliative Hub – Professional/Research Zone

Volunteers who decide to take part in the study will complete a 30 minute assessment, wear an activity monitor for one week and complete some questionnaires. The research team will follow-up with participants in the study with a phone call 6 and 12 months later to ask some questions about their health. If you would like to receive more information please contact the research team: phone 085 2239249 or you can email exerciseoncology@tcd.ie
