Let’s Fund It – A New Charity Built on Honesty & Transparency

Let's Fund It
Fund Together, Donate Together

A new charity has been welcomed on the list of Irish registered charities. The new volunteer-led charity is called Let’s Fund It.

Let’s Fund It uses donated funds to purchase goods and services on behalf of charities. The goods and services that are purchased go directly to benefit charity services users. Irish charities can contact Let’s Fund It with requests, or the new charity will respond to public appeals.

Let’s Fund It was founded by four friends, Stephen Ryan-Doyle, David Walsh, Adam Kinsella & Joseph Guerin. The inspiration for the charity came from a desire by these friends to help Irish charities and charity service-users in a practical and transparent way. In 2019, the four friends began by putting a portion of their monthly income into a bank account and allowing it to build up. Once there was enough in the account, Let’s Fund It would reach out to charities to see how they could help. As word of their charitable efforts grew, the group started receiving donations. This encouraged the four friends to apply for charity status. As of May, this year, Let’s Fund It are a registered charity.

Since registration in May of this year, the new charity has launched their own website (www.letsfundit.ie) and social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram & LinkedIn to publicise their donations and grow the charity’s reach and awareness. Let’s Fund It have also been busy at work and have donated over €1,500 worth of equipment to four Irish charities since September. Furthermore, the charity has welcomed a new volunteer member to the team, Patrick McCarthy.

Let’s Fund It hope to support to charities across Ireland. The charity places emphasis on the fact that their donations of goods and services will benefit the service users of Irish charities.

To ensure transparency and honesty with its donors, Let’s Fund It will release an annual report that will be publicly available in December. The report will describe every donation of goods/services made to benefit Irish charity service users while also outlining where donated funds were spent. Let’s Fund It pledges to keep administration costs as low as possible to ensure the majority of donated funds are spent on donations of goods and services to Irish charities service users. In 2020, 99.2% of the charity’s income was spent on donation.

While Let’s Fund It is a small charity, it hopes to make a big impact.
