We are here, HEAR open-air exhibition
“If you have a little bit of hope everything’s possible”
Open-air photo-voice exhibition spotlights education access barriers faced by refugees
From Tuesday 26th October, Maynooth University will host a touring open-air exhibition on its North Campus. Bringing together the voices and experiences of people seeking refuge in Ireland, the We are here, HEAR exhibit, through a collection of photographs and stories, documents some of the barriers faced by refugees and people in the asylum process aspiring to further their education.
People can visit the exhibition on Maynooth University's North campus from Tuesday 26th or view the collection via www.wearehereHEAR.ie, where people are also invited to share their reflections.
The We are here, HEAR project was created by Dr. Sarah Meaney-Sartori and has been developed by the Maynooth University Access Programme and College Connect, in collaboration with Dublin City University, the Irish Refugee Council and Dublin Castle. It is funded by the Public Service Innovation Fund 2021.
The exhibition will visit Dublin City University, Dundalk Institute of Technology and TUS - Athlone Campus, culminating in an event in Dublin Castle in February 2022.
